Addiction is defined as an out of control use of a substance or behaviour that alters the way you think and feel. People who can’t stop their behaviour despite negative consequences, even if they want to. A person can become addicted to certain drugs and alcohol, and also to certain behaviours, such as gambling, high-risk sexual behaviours, over-eating, and perhaps even voluntary self-starvation, and also called anorexia nervosa. As you watch this videotape, think about your own addiction and how these principles apply to you.
