I Am Alcohol is a vivid portrayal of a man’s painful journey as he battles alcohol, loneliness and fear. It evokes a powerful and strong message that everyone should see. This moving drama demonstrates the importance of surrendering the mask of alcohol, drugs, sexual promiscuity, peer pressure and falseness and reclaiming one’s true spiritual destiny. Performed by Don Burnstick, a Cree from Alexander First Nation, the play highlights one man’s use of Native culture and traditions to win back his freedom, dignity and self-respect.
